Plato: The Fate of the Impure Soul

No one would believe the things that she sees at night. For while others struggle to sleep with restless dreams and worries, she sees the spirits who wander about, generating fear and worry in those who would be better off being free to sleep, to heal and dream of the beautiful day that awaits them. But instead, they only feel depletion and rely on coffee or tea to get them by. Some seek out doctors and medications, herbs and various other salves, in hopes to find a better way to find rest. While she is the one who knows, that no drug will free them from the spirits that haunt and feed of whatever light they have left to provide. In order to solve their sleep problem, they would have to arise in the midst of their own darkness, where what haunts them lurks, playing tricks on them in dreams and visions. Souls who have died that refuse to leave the body and so feed off the ones who are still living. For when we sleep, the souls of the dead cling, still wanting to feel, to be, to exist. We do not see them, because we have become blind. We have forgotten the way and path to the underworld, for we have rejected our true purpose as custodians of the lands, the earth and heaven that we have inherited. We have rejected our duty to continue to keep our earth pure, our heart and soul clean, and our intentions in the divine.

One must consider this to be a very weighty and serious matter, this material consciousness of the visible realm: The soul that is attached to its physical manifestation is very weighed down and is dragged back into the visible realm due to fear of the invisible and Hades, as it is said, and being tossed about from tombstone to tombstone and grave to grave, around which are always seen the dark shadows and phantoms of souls, the kind of phantoms that these same attached souls themselves project, the souls that have not cleanly freed themselves the body, but still hold onto the visible realm, through which they still can be seen.

Plato, Phaedo, 81d

Plato, Phaedo, 81δ

Dancing Upon Mirror’s Edge

my dreams are as the Australian storms who confuse a single day
sunshine dancing between rain drops’ “pitter-patter” as they say
street cars sinking into mud and sea; faces burning in the heat
Where do I go: to fire or to flood? Either way I’ll be undone!

but every nightmare has a rainbow hidden from eyes forsaken
beyond the event horizon, beyond what you believe is awakened
where truth is a dusky mirror; your life, the pieces of a puzzle
tiny projections upon the wall: choose the fairest one of all.

did you know that you can walk right through the waterfalls?
for I have seen a man walk upon the water even as he drowns
people dancing with broken mirrors; blood feeding thirsty ground
for how much pain there is in following tiny false reflections

Yet how much pain in not following them?
For where will they go?, they wonder: to fire or to flood?
Perhaps it is better that we keep our hands in our blood.

but this road leads to who you may be to find out who you aren’t
I know the lies of philosophy, Shakespeare untwisted every knot
laughing and crying, living and dying: the drama keeps its running
balancing upon mirror’s edge, blind how close we are to falling

Sulam Yaakov (Jacob’s Ladder)

Surely the LORD is in this place, and I was not aware of it.

Genesis 28:16

A friend loves at all times.

Proverbs 17:17

Jacob’s ladder has been buried beneath the earth
angels now traverse up and down to the surface
where you lay your head as you dream your sleep
black and vacant death remain your memories deep
where the God created into flesh and into blood
planets singing their sweet making to the dove

But we also threw Plato into a philosopher’s cave
sacred mysteries buried in mocking fear and decay
for dreams do give birth to what the animals desire
and Cupid’s arrows will never to Augustus aspire
for Love is the only Good there is of your divine
not inspiring longing lies, but only what is thine

Eternal Return

The greatest weight.— What, if some day or night a demon were to steal after you into your loneliest loneliness and say to you: “This life as you now live it and have lived it, you will have to live once more and innumerable times more; and there will be nothing new in it, but every pain and every joy and every thought and sigh and everything unutterably small or great in your life will have to return to you, all in the same succession and sequence – even this spider and this moonlight between the trees, and even this moment and I myself. The eternal hourglass of existence is turned upside down again and again, and you with it, speck of dust!”
Would you not throw yourself down and gnash your teeth and curse the demon who spoke thus?… Or how well disposed would you have to become to yourself and to life to crave nothing more fervently than this ultimate eternal confirmation and seal?

Nietzsche’s The Gay Science, s.341, Walter Kaufmann transl.

old leaves fall so easily from the ancient wisdom trees
the wizened skin by the snake is so effortless to leave
but for the snake the new will be no different as before
even trees will offer similar life at springtime’s door

year after year we abandon to which we soon return
winter’s cold tears ever arouse in our summer’s burn
yet joy enrages the one smoldering in sorrow’s wrongs
for when he feels the sun he clings to shadows gone

Meditation

Arjuna, the forces of nature are harmony, restless activity, and inactivity (sattvarajas, and tamas). They arise from the creative energy (prakriti) which binds the indestructible one fast to the physical body.

Bhagavad Gita

…You mock my blindness, do you? But I say that you, with both your eyes, are blind

Sophocles, 400-401

1. As above, so below. As inside, so outside.

2. The stars reflect the inner world. They were created to remind us of who we are and where we are from. Just as we possess a material and etheric body, so do the stars.

3. Elohim (”the mighty ones”) created mankind in the image of themselves.

4. All the representations of love in culture and society are images and reflections. They are all idolatry. What we call the real world is really a beautiful imitation. But we become absorbed in it.

5. Absorption in the world leads to pain and misery.

6. Yoga Sutras 2.3 There are five kinds of illusions (kleshas): 1) forgetting, or ignorance about the true nature of things (avidya), 2) I-ness, individuality, or egoism (asmita), 3) attachment or addiction to mental impressions or objects (raga), 4) aversion to thought patterns or objects (dvesha), and 5) love of these as being life itself, as well as fear of their loss as being death.
(avidya asmita raga dvesha abhinivesha pancha klesha)

7. There is no truth in this material realm. The two eyes will not lead you to love.

8. Meditation is not designed for relaxation. The goal of meditation is not to rid yourself of your ego or stress.

9. In order to meditate, you must learn to master ego and stress, thoughts and emotions. Then you can meditate.

10. Most of us live life in a continual state of preparation. We are always planning to better ourselves, and we usually go in the wrong direction, thinking it is the correct path. Ten years later, out of weariness, we remember our younger aspirations, and we quickly distract ourselves away from our own illusions with convincing excuses and explanations.

11. True passionate love is there for your to express, but we bury it in weakness and longing. That is only natural however when you starve something to death.

12. Our mind is not evil. Our ego is not evil. There are no people or things that do not serve you. Everything is a lesson. You can choose to take it or deny it. It is all there for you. Every minute of every day, your life is presented to your vision for consideration of the lesson.

13. When people first begin to meditate, they quickly give up because nothing is happening and the mind takes over wandering every which way. It is difficult for the novice to control the mind, and it causes much suffering because our minds are always a bad neighborhoods when left to their own devices. But if one wants to progress in life, one needs to start cleaning up somewhere. Don’t be afraid of the dirt, just notice it and remove it. If it comes back, remove it again. Eventually, it will get the message.

14. The practice of removing thoughts is like cleaning a dirty window so you can see through it. Yes, in the beginning the thoughts will keep coming back or new thoughts will take their place. Eventually, however, you will be showing who is boss.

15. Once you have started clearing the thoughts, you will still have some grime that remains. It will distort your vision, but you will still make out the shapes and the faces of a universe that is nothing other than magical.

16. You do not find your power in the external. Your power is always within. All of us experience it, filtered through the material realm. And yes, we abuse it, or cast it aside, or try to possess it out of greed and lust. But as we know, all things in this material world come and go, despite the fact that we worship it as a living god. The frequency of these created things cannot withstand the test of time. However, they are often sourced in those higher eternal frequencies, and it is possible to locate yourself there outside the material dimension.

17. Jesus was a healer and could walk on water because he was not of this material world, not because he was a fiction.

18. The world we perceive through the fives senses is a tiny grain of sand compared to the entire universe you have access to.

19. Once you peer through the window of your intuitive eye, you will realize that the window is a door.

20. John Lennon dreamed of us living as one. This is because he knew that we are already one.

21. Separation is an illusion that causes us great pain and misery. We can feel at war with the world, each other, and ourselves. This is due to the nature of the world in regards to its apparent consistency and adherence to Newtonian Laws of physics. Everything remains the same and yet it changes. We like things to remain the same.

22. The quantum field is the only true constancy. But it is a constant field of possibilities that be conjured up through creative powers.

23. All creative endeavor accesses the quantum field of possibility. This is our natural and subconscious connection to “diety”. Yet most art, especially the unoriginal type of art, is heavily reliant upon material mind and memory – it uses the familiarity of the physical world as a means of expression. In other words, it offers no new perspective. Phenomenon such as Mozart, the Beatles, Nietzsche, are examples of creative individuals who truly reinvented the flow of their respective material realms.

24. Invention is our connection to source. Memory is our connection to humanity.

25. What is worth seeing forever is not seen through the eyes. The blind have a distinct advantage over the rest of the population. Most people however wrongly think of them as disabled.

26. The material powers of this world will always work against the one who wants to tap into true inventiveness and creativity. The material world is designed to attract heroes who wish to overcome it. In Christianity, this is called the devil. Jesus spent a lot of time with the devil.

27. Most people stay away from things they consider demonic, like yoga or tarot reading. This avoidance is actually a work of the very “devil” they say they fear. It is a test that will not pass if t hey don’t overcome their own devil.

28. You are never alone. There are spirit guides with you. If you enter a deep state of meditation, you will see them. Some appear in the form of humans or animals or simply light beings. Once you witness them, you will never suffer again by anything any human being can do to you.

29. Many wonder: well, if spirit guides are with me, why don’t they help me? First of all, there is free will. You must ask and you must ask in earnest from a place of unconditional love. Note also that the “me” you are talking about it is the material “me”, the “mini me”, the one that is projected into the material world. That “me” you want help for might require some hard medicine. You have to be willing to take the medicine.

20. A lifetime in the world is a phenomenal blip that emerges from the quantum field. Most of us don’t last very long.

21. Who you are is nothing that you can imagine, and even if you could imagine it, it would be wrong and unconvincing.

22. The only way to experience the self is through meditation. There is no other way. The third eye must be opened.

23. Most people’s third is (pineal gland) has been calcified due to fluoride and other environmental/health factors. It is possible to decalcify it through died and Reiki.

24. Your body must be prepared to handle the ascension of self. If you wish to take that path, practice grounding yourself first. Otherwise, you will fly too far afield where There Be Dragons. Every spiritual endeavor must be balanced with a foot or two upon the earth.

25. Children cling to their blanket. You cling to everything that persists around you.

26. We are children and will remain children until we choose not to be.

27. There is a divine will that works through you, and if you do not follow it, you will not be fulfilled when you die. It is for the reason, you will be reincarnated again until you learn to follow it.

28. There are people who deny the divine exists. You can see their souls swimming against the current as they complain about the difficulty of life and how if a God or spiritual entity were present, they wouldn’t suffer so much.

29. Some people read every challenge as if it were an eternal stop sign guarded by an angel of the fiery sword.

30. We are all guided at different times and at different levels and speeds. The only requirement is to be aware of your journey. Yet so many insist on writing books and twitter posts about how everyone else should be approaching life as they do.

31. You are your only teacher. The other teachers outside of you should only be guides to lead you back to yourself.

32. My greatest love and lover never touched me. He pointed me in the direction of my soul and I have traveled there and beyond. There is no greater gift in the universe, this love, this life, this magical beauty that is the truth of our existence.

He is the sun to my moon; the awareness to my subconscious; the universe to my tiny breath.

Ego, Dharma, Healing

Nothing is higher than dharma. The weak overcomes the stronger by dharma, as over a king. Truly that dharma is the Truth (Satya); Therefore, when a man speaks the Truth, they say, “He speaks the Dharma”; and if he speaks Dharma, they say, “He speaks the Truth!” For both are one.
Brihadaranyaka Upanishad, 1.4.xiv

Agreement. Our dependency on other people is not due to our own weakness, but is due to the superficial preoccupations of our mind. When not at “work”, our mind spends most of its time with trivialities, falsities, and circular repetitious inner dialogues. The truth is that we are rarely dealing with the real world, if such a thing exists; and even if it does exist, we have very little inclination to associate with it, let alone the patience to inquire about it. Everyone else does this as well, and their agreement with us appears to constitute “reality”. We choose, for better or for worse, to engage with people who support the illusion and confusion we conjure on a regular basis. Shared delusion, mass consciousness, birds of a feather; call it what you like. As Friedrich Nietzsche said, “In individuals, madness is rare. In groups, it is the rule.”

Bondage and attachment. We are more attached to our thoughts about love than actually loving. It is a situation that is truly the “devil’s handiwork”.

Success. We generally never question what constitutes society’s idea of success. If we did, the idea would have already transformed, and so would we. And if success doesn’t fulfill us, we pretend that it does until the lie becomes so great that the only friend we have is what the Greeks called pharmaka: spells, incantations, and herbs. We recognize these as pharmaceuticals. Some are satisfied with simply “partying”.

Poison. Poison is not in the air or the sea, the earth or the fire. The poison is always in what we believe, and what we believe we must be.

Reality. People speak confidently to each other and themselves about being “realistic”. But “realism” only makes sense within the context of a hive mind and the limits it sets for itself. These limits are what divide good from bad, right from wrong, possible and impossible, all of which apply to everyone and no one in particular.

Thinking and Inner Knowing. We think that thinking leads to observation and that observation leads to truth. But this is a lie. There is no true and good observation with the mind. The mind is not an instrument for the observation of truth. The soundness of an argument does not mean it is a true argument. You can create a damn good story, but it has no bearing on its validity. A program for a computer can be logically sound and perfectly written. There is nothing “true” about it. It is a created system designed to stand by itself in a certain context. Mind as a whole is an instrument for collection, categorization, organization, structuring, story telling, argumentation, etc. The mind’s utility comes in after the observation/inspiration has already taken place. With what organ do we observe reality? Some cultures call it the “third eye” or the “heart chakra”, or the “understanding”. It is the source of all original inspiration and creativity. Plato called it “remembering”, because he saw inner knowledge as something that is already there within us latent and hidden. We are born with what we are meant to create; all we have to do is simply recollect and work on manifesting it. Yet most of us do not believe in any of this because not only have we been uneducated in the awareness of ourselves, but even when we do become aware, we decide that such an inner search takes time and solitude. And time and solitude will not make interesting YouTube videos or Facebook posts. Time and solitude will not get you quick success.

Quickly. Fine wines are not produced in a day.

From Spirit to Cog. Even though we are not aware of the full powers of our third eye, we still receive information from within and through it. The third eye is literally a portal to other worlds, and aspects or timelines of this world. However, this information is distorted and muddied by the ego-material world we live in. We immediately transmute spiritual information into childish dream analysis, ideas for action, ideas for winning. The American culture is still very pragmatic with regards to its own success. The individuals within it are simply expressions and pawns of that pragmatism. Spiritual insight is always shortly followed by “How can I sell this?”. And if we can’t sell it for the sake of wealth, fame, or image, we discard it immediately.

Heaven for Hell.
American culture’s relationship to yoga and meditation can be defined in the following way: We stretch our muscles towards the heavens so that we might relax happy inside our hell.

Group Meditation.
The only access to true reality is through our own experience of spirit. Meditation helps. Group meditation, however, is like to going to a sociologist for psychotherapy.

Disease and Profits. There is no money to be gained if people don’t need someone else to do something for them. There is always an financial incentive to keeping physical and spiritual disease alive and thriving.

Self-Doubt. Self doubt is the ego’s most clever survival strategy. Self-doubt is one of the most difficult psychological barriers to happiness and, at the same time, it is the best way to protect our current status-quo, whatever that may be. Self-doubt is most difficult, not because it is inherently complicated to remove as if it were some sophisticated alien implant, but because the strength of self-doubt is proportional to the power of the ego, which in most of us is unbounded and untamed. Self-doubt never doubts the doubter, because that would remove the entire disease and send the person into a reflective hall of mirrors. It’s just too much twisty mental yoga for most people to even look at it. No, self-doubt keeps us from being or doing or saying something outside of our normal routine. It is simply a ego-defense mechanism and it is designed to make you fail at your heart’s desire. Every. Single. Time. Self-doubt usually arises due to an overprotective parent. They would rather you stay in the house all day, than risk skinning a knee.

Imbalance always stems from an unbridled ego. Excessive muscle mass, excessive exercising, excessive partying, drinking. The power of the ego is always in inverse proportion to the power of the soul. Can’t control yourself when faced with a bag of chocolate? This is not about lack of will power; it is about the lack of relationship to your own soul. Look at it this way. Would you continually feed your dog or your child a bag of chocolate in every day? Not unless you want to kill the former, and cause serious health problems in the later. Why would you do it to yourself? It is not because you lack will power. It is because you are not connecting to love and care towards yourself.

Love is Health. With love, intelligence, care, grace, and kindness comes naturally. How do you access love? You begin by being true to yourself, to your powers, to your inner knowing. Spend time alone. Let everything else that falls away from that, fall away. You don’t need it.

Google as Oracle. We moderns believe that we know more of reality than the ancients. It is true that we may know more about the natural phenomena as presented through the five senses. We have spent a lot of time with data and pattern observation in observable phenomena. We worship our material world in a way that the Egyptians would find shocking. We even have computers that we love more than life itself, to do our heavy mathematical calculations, logical sentences, and Google oracle searches. But this deep faith in physical scientific data has spread to all areas of human life and the result is that we have never been more ignorant about the nature of ourselves or the universe. This is why the ancients look ignorant to us, not because they were ignorant, but because they were usually talking about something that we have long forgotten, namely, ourselves.

Misunderstandings. Our standard modern egoic understanding of religion and gods completely prevents us from understanding anything true about religion and gods.

Socrates: I know nothing.
Delphic Oracle: Know yourself!
Socrates: I know that I know nothing.

Resist, Surrender, Resent. To resist against social norms is to persist those social norms. This is why most young people eventually give up their resistance and surrender to what they once claimed to despise. At that later point, they see themselves as “growing up”. But the truth is that they have just “grown in”. They are as wild horses who finally succumb to the comforts offered by their masters. Later, as they age, these people are most likely to become the ones who are the least tolerant of those who don’t in turn succumb to what they themselves once submitted to.

Monkey Mind. Most people give up on meditation because they have a “monkey mind”, a mind that is completely unable to stop swinging from thought to thought, from dream to dream, from desire to desire. Restlessness, anxiety, inconsistency: all of them feel impossible to avoid. But this is precisely why they shouldn’t give up on meditation. Yet for some reason, the monkey thinks that if it is hungry, it shouldn’t bother eating.

Separation. The energy of people speaks louder than their words and their actions. You can experience the thoughts of another individual even before they can articulate those thoughts to themselves. This is no magic. This is possible only because we are not really separated from each other. Psychic powers arise out of awareness of connection with others from within.

Karmic Disease. If you cause pain to another human being, you will feel that pain as well. It will become part of you. This is what karma is. It is not justice. It is the experience of shared energy. You cannot intentionally harm or hurt someone else without harming and hurting yourself. It may manifest differently within you and you might not identify it until later, but it is there. This is how generational karma is possible. The pain is transferred. You are always the one who has the opportunity to heal it. Otherwise, you will remain a carrier and you will spread that pain far and wide to as many children and animals as possible. Karma is a disease and each one of us can resolve it. First by recognizing it, healing the wounds, and healing others.

Generational Suffering. One person can contain the evil and pain of multiple generations. I have seen such a one or two and I have seen deep suffering and alcohol in their eyes.

Victims. The modern victim mentality perpetuates karmic disease. When everyone is the victim, no one takes action to resolve the karma. We don’t take responsibility because we are the root cause of the pain, we take responsibility because we can be the cause of the healing. It is our Dharma to do so. To neglect that duty is to actually become part of the root cause.

Healing. The source of all confusion and muddied thinking and feeling is a lack of access to Source or God (whatever you call it) via your third eye. You are one and your being is integrated inside the world in a profound and magical way. The confusion you suffer is not due to psychological illness, but due to sociological conditioning and false education. Peel off the layers of social conditioning and you will uncover your true voice. This takes time, love, and patience. Do not give up in this. Be relentless. Find others who support you. Find good books, not self-help agendas and yoga teacher trainings. Stop chasing “success” and “money”. It is candy but it will leave you unfulfilled. Then when you are done and have found who you are, or at least who you are not, begin to learn how you might heal all the others. You will know when it is time. Only you will know. Google knows nothing.

Sexuality: Truth or Fame?

Jesus replied, “Even if I testify about Myself, My testimony is valid, because I know where I came from and where I am going. But you do not know where I came from or where I am going. You judge according to flesh. I judge no one.

John 8:15

Poetry as Sexual Spells. There are certain poems whose words are not meant to be heard for their clever composition. They are instead symbols, like hieroglyphics, which, in their spellings, transmit an energy meant to be felt and recreated again and again upon each reading. Poetry, like music, is the art of spells and incantations and love-making. What does poetry and music wish to achieve? It wishes of course to find another to receive it, so that it might enter the other for self replication. This pursuit is as the nature of life and love itself. Union, replication, procreation, recreation, reincarnation: it doesn’t matter whether the poet/musician is still alive or long passed, the listener who resonates with the energy of the composer’s spells will receive that energy as a recognized force of consciousness. That energy which moves through the listener is palpable and powerful. And as a song is transmitted within the soul of the listener and welcomed there, it’s seeds are planted, to someday perhaps germinate into similar offspring.

Transmutation of Sexual Energy. The transference and recreation of energy over time and space is not to be confused with the temporal energetic emotional state and lusts of lovers. Emotional expression cannot alone carry itself beyond the moment of its expression. Lust is no match for unconditional divine love. Its end is quick, unstable, and unsubtle. Unconditional love, on the other hand, is a creative energy, an energy of consciousness that transforms a sudden outburst of tears into the tragedy of humanity, the longing of a young man or woman into the eternal quest for union with the beloved, the pain of death into the Iliad. There is a certain divine grace inherent in this divine love, for it saves us from being utterly consumed by what is by itself self-annihilating.

Canines. The general population experiences their sexuality as a physical experience like eating food or drinking. This is why the general population does not have an impact beyond temporal creation. From dust they arise and to dust they return. Still some of them are very attractive and well-groomed.

Pleasure. The modern world is an amazing place where dogs enjoy more comforts and privileges than most people in Africa. Most people, if you demanded of them the truth, would admit that a dog’s life is more enjoyable than their own.

Know the Beast. Most artists in the modern world seek to become popular amongst the general population. They will soon find out – when it is too late – that each moment spent trying to please the general population, is a moment that gets them even closer to homelessness – or worse – a desk job.

Temporal Recognition. Fame in the twenty-first century is temporary. As time goes on, it will get even more temporary. Many will blame this on technology or society at large. But the blame itself is misplaced and is itself a symptom of the true problem. The real problem is that most professional artists and wannabe artists have become attention and sexual whores.

Responsibility. Technology is an instrument not only for distraction but also for scapegoating. Not only does it allow us to abdicate our mathematical responsibilities, but also our responsibilities in regards to exercising the power of our own Will.

Only One. We don’t produce Shakespeares and Mozarts not because we are addicted to the Internet, but because Shakespeares and Mozarts have always been rare. But that is okay. These single individuals are blessed with a divine love and grace so powerful that they still empower and inspire us to this day. We just need one. Only one.

God is Alive. God is the source of all creativity. Nietzsche declared His death…and then resurrected Him. I have yet to meet someone who understands this. Instead, what we have are fools who refute God because they think God cares about arguments.

Justice. True philosophy has nothing to do with argument or self defense. Philosophy would actually have no function if the human world were not constantly in a state of imbalance and excess and – let’s face – utter stupidity. Philosophy has been and always will be justice, the enterprise whose goal it is to rebalance humanity or a section of humanity. A philosopher will poke holes in a previous philosopher’s arguments not because he is trying to prove the other wrong, but because rebalancing requires it. Students of philosophy will ignorantly imitate the actions and words of the philosopher, not understanding the power and energy and direction of those words. By the time students rummage through the old philosopher’s bones, his original words, concepts, ideas have already succumb to gravity. They have grown slow and ponderous, eventually collapsing into their own weight. The word “love” in the mouth of Socrates, for example is now so filled with every single aspect of affinity, sexual contact, emotional intimacy, etc that the word is virtually meaningless.

Romeo. The philosopher who is interesting in lovemaking, will make sure that he first refutes every definition of love he can find.

Canary in the Coal Mine. An artist cannot express from his heart and soul if his heart and soul is filled with lies and deceits. He can try of course, but he will find only limitation and difficulty. He would be the canary in the coal mine, but in a cave mine that is filled to the top with coal. That is why it is a good idea for every artist to constantly look to remove anything that keeps his heart from singing freely into open air.

Boredom. The general population will worship artists who excite their physical sexuality. Everything else is boring and pretentious like Rachmaninoff and Longfellow and Jesus.

Destiny. Artists must always answer this question: Do you desire fame or do you love truth? Who is your mistress? She will be your lover. She will be your destiny.

Trick Questions. Everything in life offers a trick question. Slow down. Listen. Contemplate. Then perhaps answer.

The Will and the Ego

Straightway, a forgetting wind
Stole over the celestial kind,
And their lips the secret kept,
If in ashes the fire-seed slept.
But now and then, truth-speaking things
Shamed the angels’ veiling wings;

– Ralph Waldo Emerson, Uriel

The television, computer, or the media in general are externalized dreams to be delivered to mass consciousness. As consumers, we reflect and recreate these symbols and paradigms given to us. Our own dreams become variegated instances of that mass dream. This is why media is a powerful form of mental and subconscious programming. It is designed to weaken the individual human Will.

A truly creative person must protect – not their ego – but their Will. I have watched too many in their egos. They always disappear, as sure as the body wastes away in the grave, in silence, clutching their fears.

There are those who have a Will that is even stronger than their massive ego. We call them “old softies”.

The Will is not a stubborn and determined bull in a china shop, stomping on people, hurting them, and destroying all that is delicate and fine. No, it is the ego that is the bull. The Will is angelic. It is a force of light that is mighty, terrible and of the most exquisite beauty and inspiration. It is the cord that connects us to the divine. All that is dark will flee its presence. The ego will always believe that an egg needs to be cracked in order to build something good. The Will refutes this. It is always grace and gracious to all. It enlightens what it touches and what doesn’t want enlightenment will go back into Tartarus.

It is easier to not be creative. It is easier not to go to the gym. It is easy to overlook cultivating your Will. It is easier to dissolve the Will into the mass will that empowers external society. Socially minded people, especially those who absorb their lives in political and social issues tend to imagine themselves to be aligned to the heart beat of the universal consciousness. However, the truth is, they have lost their Will and their Soul to the created imagination of consciousness.

Most of the population is dark and blind and that is why they feed off the Will of others who are connected to the divine. Unfortunately, there are many who have that divine light, that natural Will to shine, who instead choose to throw their pearls at the feet of swine and roll around in the mud with them. This is usually due to bad upbringing and a mother who is jealous and envious of others, especially anyone who she perceives to shine brighter than herself, which would be most good people.

A mother who is jealous of her children overcoming her desires – will place them in front of the television. She instinctively knows that the television will keep her children’s dreams under control, preventing from strengthening their own Will, their resolve, and the love within that calls. She wants to cultivate fear and co-dependency. She especially supports medicating her children or introducing them to the numbing effects of alcohol as soon as they are of age to party.

Why would a population want their dreams to be directed, controlled, and produced for them? That same population also wants to be pay psychologists and gurus to help them overcome their depression, victim mentality, their co-dependency, their own feelings of powerlessness. What they are looking for is a strong Will. Instead, they go for abs of steel or a degree in Liberal Arts. They love this quandary that they are in because all forms and expressions of it are like the ones they see on the television shows and their Twitter feed. They feel “connected”.

There is a group of people who consider themselves to be ascended beings. These are the new agers and all those who associate with them. They fly together as a flock of birds fly together. Their transformation is simply the trading of one co-dependency for another co-dependency. If one of the flock were left to meditate by themselves for a lifetime, they would fall into the ravine below, transform into a rodent, and scurry away, never to be seen in the sky again.

New agers spend hours on Twitter and Facebook talking about their ascension symptoms like a group of grandmas talking about their cataracts and incontinence. There is much comfort in common misery. Namaste.

Depression, powerlessness, anxiety: all of them are a function of a hijacked dream state and a lack of awareness of who is actually running the show, the actors, the theater, the Wizard of Oz, the world, the stage. The dream we live in has many doors leading to more dreams. No one wants to own them. They don’t even know they are there.

I don’t need to see a person to read their energy. I see their internal structure very quickly, a structure they don’t even know is there. In a second, I can see a thought pop in and out of their consciousness. I can see the sudden surge of unexpected energy nearly topple their fragile constitution. This constitution is like a programmatic template/paradigm. Programmers would call this perhaps an “abstract class and/or interface”. My dreams often involve people I can’t see. I know exactly who they are in life, and even if I don’t, I know how and what they are.

We are all almost ready to fall apart. We should take Nike’s advice here.

If we would allow ourselves to fall apart, we could work towards creating something that won’t fall apart. But modern psychology tells us we must love who we are. Love here means to defend who we are. In other words, if you are a shitty dingy in a wild sea, save that dingy at all costs. Kill even the whales if you need to. Okay.

We have been untaught how to read the works of Shakespeare and Plato. We no only understand plot, character, and motive. We are obsessed with the ego-identities and landscapes of others, which fuels the self-loathing and sense of uselessness of the self. We rarely participate in our own stories. We still believe in Santa Claus and all sorts of toddlerized short stories. It all sounds the same and we like it.

A successful author tells the story that is most desirable for the children to hear. The state of writing today.

There is a great cost to achieving success in a sick society. The cost is abject failure and self loathing.

One cannot deliver to the cravings of the ill masses without making himself a sacrifice to them. Always make sure your sacrifice is for the greatest good and make sure that you are willing to perish most miserably at their hands.

Famous people lead miserable lives. The ignorant marvel at how so many die of drugs, suicide, or just plain self-neglect. The ignorant love to hear about the downfall of the stars. This is because they enjoy consuming them so that they themselves may live and continue to dream about being a “star”.

Talking to most people is like talking to characters either from the latest Netflix, YouTube series. Of course, there are some folks who are more elevated and sound like most of Twitter.

True knowledge will never be acquired until you are able and ready to see. A seeker of knowledge must first, not apply for University, but work on strengthening their Will.

A seeker of success in anything requires a strength of Will.

Most people confuse desire with Will. They think that because they want something badly, they will get it. They believe they should get it because Nike even tells them to “Just do it!” But the truth is, desires never lead us to the desire. Only a powerful Will is what leads us to what is desired.

The Will must be cleared of all desires in order to become powerful. The Will is like water. If it is filled with dirt and contaminates, it will, yes, quench your thirst, but the process of tasting it will be awful and the results could even be fatal.

Our modern culture is a culture of hedonism, not because we are like Romans puking in a vomitorium after dinner, but because we worship our desires and we identify with them as if they constitute the nature and essence of self.

Make no mistake. Most people think desire is love and love is desire. This is why love appears painful to them. Jesus tried to help with that. Results still uncertain.

We are told we live in a scientific, realistic, progressive society. We are told that older cultures such as those in ancient Greece and Rome, Ancient Egypt, or Ancient Sumeria, are practically like cavemen in contrast to our more enlightened and intellectualized world. Cultures who were motivated and absorbed in their myths appear primitive and even ridiculous to most modern thinkers. But this belief, that we have overcome the mythological and the symbolic, is also a myth and a story. We believe in our reality just as much as they did. In fact, we believe in our idols and our symbols even more than they did.

Ancient civilizations honored the past and their histories for they saw the thread of divinity interwoven within their mundane life. The modern ego doesn’t understand this and actually takes offense to it. This is the modern delusion. A time will come when we will be looked upon with shame and disbelief. How could they trust and put so much faith in an invisible ego?

The power and arrogance of the western ego is its own devil. And how many devils there are!

We become attached to entertainment and media not because of the pleasure it gives us but because we digest the expressions and symbols it offers us. They empower us or make us feel things. We weep and we cheer. We don’t do that often in our lives, unless we are feeling depressed because “life sucks”. We prefer the feeling of distance because it makes the ego feeling like a god. The ego says to itself when it is watching a spectacle: “And on the 7th episode of Game of Thrones, I said it was good.” Media offers us representation, meaning, explanation, a landscape upon which to judge and comment.

The entertainment media has literally replaced tradition, ritual, mythology, storytelling. It has literally consumed us. As a result, relationships to each other have become either functional, co-dependent, or completely useless. The ego calls this its “independence” and “self-empowerment”. Women especially love this because they feel like they don’t need anyone, especially a man. They all secretly – or sometimes even openly – suffer. This is is why they need a gaggle of girls around them to engage in commiseration.

Millions of people talk about love on the Internet today, especially the ones who gain fame and money from the the ones they love so much. These are known as “followers”. In the past, they were known as licksplittles.

People need to be reminded by Internet memes that they are precious and special and loved by the universe. They have forgotten: they are the only universe there is. Another thing that mommy never told them.
