Samadhi, Bliss, and You

Yoga Sutra 3.3: tad eva artha matra nirbhasam svarupa shunyam iva samadhih

When the field of observation and the observing intelligence merge as if their own form is abolished and the total intelligence shines as the sole substance or reality, there is pure choiceless awareness without the divided identity of the observer and the observed – that is illumination.

Translation and interpretation by Swami Venkatesananda
  1. The Cup Overfloweth. We have an immense capacity for helping others, for we are as a cup that overflows or as a volcano that erupts from the earth. We give to each other with very little effort and extraordinary energy. Thinking, planning, and strategizing are accessories that are useful, but can quickly become impediments to the good effects you wish to distribute.
  2. Utilitarianism. Our utilitarian mindset is simple and leads to much unhappiness. We watch the beauty of the fish as they swim effortlessly in the pond, and we wonder how such a vision could be sold to the highest bidder.
  3. Turgid Waters. It is not possible to give powerfully to anyone or anything when your soul is burdened and muddied in the waste that is guilt, shame, and blame. In those cases, water is still there, but it is dark and turgid water in which only dark and turgid souls love to swim.
  4. Fans. Those who approve of and engage in self-shaming, guilt, and torture of various kinds easily become the friends and fans of those who sing their songs.
  5. Spark. There is a tiny light of power that shines in the dark for those who wish to free themselves from the shackles of self-doubt and fear. An art that flames that tiny apparently insignificant fire is born of the divine will. Carpe Diem. Seize the day.
  6. Ego Thought Love. Loving oneself and others is false love when it refers to loving the ego and the thoughts we have about ourselves and the others.
  7. Unity. There is not a single thought that can express the nature of who you are. That is why you must look within. You are an endless universe of stars.
  8. Eye. Notice that the phrase “looking within” does not mean for us to use the eyes that only look without.
  9. Salvation in Approval. Most people want to be good and do good deeds in order to redeem themselves. Jesus taught that salvation only comes from the divine, but the people only hear a man’s words when they listen to Jesus talking about God. So they look for men and women to approve of them.
  10. Sparks of Eternal Fire. Every person who uses social media as a gauge for their own value receives a little spark of the fire of life with every “like” they receive. But as soon as that spark appears it begins to die. The addiction is to crumbs, not to sustenance or power. It is the lifestyle of those who do not know how to create with the eternal fire. But you can learn.
  11. Eternity. The most difficult part of meditation is learning how to allow yourself to meditate. Most meditation exercises offered to the public are not really meditation, but are a preparation for meditation. We cannot meditate truly until we become the observer of our own thoughts and world. In that sense, meditation is always an attempt, and as we practice the attempt, we become more observant of the endless possibly that we are.
  12. Dragon Courage. We are not our bodies. We are not this meat bag. We are not this flesh and bones. We all have awareness or thoughts around these statements. But we usually stop there and continue on clinging to our lives. It is the rare person who continues to see what he or she actually is. Such person is possessed of great courage beyond measure. There be dragons.
  13. Animal Spirits. Each person has one or more spirit animals. Most people don’t see them. They exist in another dimension. How do you see them? Learn to clear your thoughts. Do energy work to clear your third eye. Eat clean foods. Practice meditation or yoga or music, anything that connects you to the divine.
  14. You are Divine Art. You are already an expression of the divine. Your actions and your words and your creations tell of who you are. You don’t notice this at all. You think you are surviving.
  15. Unity Consciousness. The third eye gives each of us access to the consciousness of unity or Christ Consciousness. It is where you experience the all in the one and the one of the all. Your higher consciousness leads to a universe that becomes one with all others. There is no division there; no separation. There is only observation, bliss and love. Samadhi.
  16. The World. This world that you see with your bodily senses is a very small fragment of who you are. But the world itself is interested in its own preservation through the beings that it inhabits. It will even destroy the other aspects of life in order to maintain its emperor-like dominion. We like to blame politicians or the corporations, but we need to first look at ourselves. Freedom from filth dissolves filth, just as a bird who flies high above the ant no longer sees the ant.
  17. Pity for the Hero. There is truly nothing in this world that is too big a problem for us to solve. We like to make mountains out of molehills because we yearn to be heroes or damsels in distress. But this is all coming from fear and worldly desires. We wish to become heroic or victim in order to redeem ourselves from our own self-loathing. It never works. Most drink themselves to death, play too many games, or do too many drugs, etc.
  18. Withdrawal of the senses (pratyahara) is the first step towards liberation, happiness, and bliss. It is the first step towards extracting yourself from the bondage that your thoughts have you subject to. You are your own willing slave. The keys of the cell you are in are the keys to the kingdom and they are in one of your many pockets.
  19. Agreement/Disagreement. Everything I write is something I experience directly. You can agree or not agree with what I am saying, but know that you are still in a state of polarized thought: you have not experienced anything.
  20. From Bliss to Word. Thinking is a wonderful computer-like mechanism. It makes us feel like we are experiencing something, especially if the idea feels right and sound. And when people agree with us – oh boy – we are the founders of an exquisite diamond! But the truth is that thoughts are thoughts about some buried experience that has usually been lost somewhere in some soul who is blissed out and happy in his soul, unconcerned but completely aware that his experience has been reduced to a few printed words.
  21. Awareness is a choice you can make. Take some time out for yourself. You do not need to work so hard. Relax and really look at your thoughts. Listen to how they roar and argue with each other. Listen to how you punish yourself. Listen to how you abuse yourself. Hear how never stop to listen to the air and the birds around you. Practice this every day, even for a few minutes. Be with yourself. Enjoy your own interaction with yourself. That is how you begin the process of meditation. Meet yourself. Buy yourself tea. Chat.
  22. “Love is the Law. Love under Will.” – Aleister Crowley, The Book of the Law.
  23. The Matrix is real and you are Neo; but you are not the one. So be it. So begin.

Heart over Mind, Mind over Matter

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh. findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Matthew 7:7-8

Emotional Ocean. The emotions arise from thoughts. The thoughts are the parents of all the emotions. But the emotions, as they grow in force, proceed to overrun and drown those very thoughts. The emotional body conceals the truth about its origins and plays a powerful role in perpetuating the karma associated with this concealment. We like to elevate our emotions because of their force and color, but in relation to truth they are as an ocean whose natural tendency is to bury the civilization that was its very origin. Emotions, like water, become darker as one dives deeper below the surface. The darker we plummet, the more forgetful we become; and to react emotionally is to be, first of all, forgetful. But even though we have forgotten, and even thought we do not seek to uncover what was once concealed (because we forget it even existed), new thoughts articulate these emotions, and these new thoughts allow us to experience a sort of understanding, not of truth, but of survival. Our understanding qua survival then becomes the root of our entire existence on earth, the animal instinct, the lie that must be saved at all costs. This false understanding is what teaches us how to swim in the deep waters of our emotional generational flood. When God destroyed humanity due to their forgetfulness, he drowned them in his tears. Was it out of love?

Questions for Conversation. We might learn more about each other and ourselves if we learn to speak in questions rather than in answers.

What is surviving? We have elevated the mind to near god-status. It doesn’t matter whether or not you consider yourself intellectual or not, if you live in the twenty-first century, you live in your mind, the manifestations of mind, the viciousness, the coldness, the harsh winter of calculation. Even the most emotional and sensitive of us filter those emotions and sensations through the mind. That is how we observe: We dissect, analyze, label, correlate. We do everything we can to understand. In other words, we do everything we can in order to survive. But what exactly is trying to survive?

Thesis/Antithesis. Emotionalism seems more real to those who suspect that mind does not always have their best interests at heart. They would be correct, but emotionalism is also a clever trick, mostly because emotionalism is devised by mind as a reaction against itself, in order to control all such reactions and avoid being seen.

Open the Heart. The only way to get the better of the mind is to use it to break the heart. For there is nothing the mind wants to prevent more than the release of the power of the heart; for within the heart is the truth, the truth about mind and emotions, the truth about your soul, the truth about who you are and what you are here for.

The Art of Cutlery. Knives are used in many capacities: art, medicine, cooking, crafts. In the tarot, the mind is represented by the suit of swords which in turn represents the alchemical element, air. The suit of swords is the most decisive of all the forms of the suits and is usually considered as the most terrible of the suits. Knives are meant to cut away (Latin, decidere) what is no longer needed as dictated by the purpose of the wielder of the knife. In alchemical terms, the knives prune the extremes of the fiery and watery suits, so as to create balance, harmony, health, and beauty. We must ask ourselves, are we good with knives? Are we careful with what our mind is doing? Are we using our mind or is our mind using us? For while mind is a necessary tool for balance in life, it can be quite dangerous when used by those who do not understand it’s power of manifestation, that it is a tool for creation by means of destruction.

Dividing Mind, Broken Heart. The mind by nature always divides. It divides itself from the heart. It divides its ego from others. It believes love is a choice and an alliance, a for and an against. The mind, if left to its own devices, makes war upon all of creation for the sake of its own preservation inside the ego. Only when the heart is able to witness this, when the heart breaks at the sight of it, will the soul be free of the suffering, pain, and misery caused by a relentless and unbridled mind, drunk on its own power.

One Hit Wonders. We are emotionally happy and exuberant when we believe to have made a good choice in life or when something good “happens” to us. But emotionalism, being the ocean that it is, always responds to high tides with the low. It may take time, but all emotionally motivated situations will show up to be erroneous or irrelevant decisions in relation to our entire life. Yet, some people will be so determined to hang on to the memories and expectations of those good feelings that they will spend the rest of their lives learning how to fool themselves into believing that they can’t smell the dead carcasses that they abandoned upon the shore.

Puppet on a String. The human world and civilization is currently designed to have you live from your emotional body. When you are living from your emotional body, you are not in control of your own Will. In that state of things life appears to be up and down, out of your control: you feel as if you are a victim or a spectator; a blessed being graced with luck or a being cursed beyond all redemption. Either way, someone else is actually determining your life for you, and they are doing so without your permission by means of a higher, more powerful and clever mind.

Ask and Ye Shall Receive. Most of us do not cultivate the power of our own Will for the same reason that we don’t want to look at the mess in the closet or beneath the bed. We don’t want to face the chaos we have permitted ourselves and others – by means of ourselves – to make. We just don’t want to own our life because it means having to do a lot of work to fix it and it also means facing the pain of our own ignorance and cruelty, as well as the ignorance and cruelty that we have allowed from others. But the truth is that there is freedom and beauty in your messes. There is love and forgiveness for your ignorance and your cruelty. But you cannot have that beauty, freedom, love and forgiveness if you do not get down upon your knees and ask for it. Look in the mirror, deep within the mirror; for there are stars and gods and devils in mirrors. Ask for light and ye shall receive the power to create light. For only with the light will you be able to see through the darkness of the ocean. And in that darkness you will illuminate the magic, the magnificent tragedy that is humanity, the missteps, the misunderstandings, the profound struggles, the redemption, the grace. For with that magic, you will gain the holy grail, the wonder, the divine love and joy of opening your heart to all of the world, at all times, and to all places, everywhere.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world”

John: 16:33

Love

“The degree and kind of a man’s sexuality reach up into the ultimate pinnacle of his spirit.”

Friedrich Nietzsche

Love Growth and Destruction. Love brings us an opportunity to grow so as to become who we truly are. This also means that love brings us an opportunity to remove what isn’t who we truly are at all. When the chick hatches, it leaves behind the egg shell. When the butterfly leaves the cocoon, it doesn’t take it with them. It is finally free. This is why, for many, love is something with which they cannot afford to engage. They are still waiting for love to enter to where they are, to enter back into the cocoon, to return to the egg. The unnatural nature of that expectation doesn’t occur to them and so they suffer.

Bramachary (Celibacy) as a Precondition for Art. Augustus, the first Roman Emperor, had to institute the Lex Julia (laws of marriage) because no one wanted any part of it. He believed that marriage and the family were the bedrock of society for, at the time, Rome was dealing with rampant rape, violent sexual promiscuity, pedophilia, and various other types of unsavory behavior I don’t need to get into here. Suffice it to say, societal collapse was on the horizon and after Augustus passed, the madness continued, leading Rome into further and deeper decline. Meanwhile, romantic love, an idea that had its Western seeds in early Greek poetry, but began its long illustrious career in the late medieval-early Renaissance period, could only be possible under the misery/repression/boredom of marriage or loneliness due to lack of marriage, death, etc. The Eros of the Greek classical era, the wild orgiastic abandon of that god when mixed with the wine of a Dionysus, had all but vanished – thanks to the power of the Augustus, which was taken up by the Holy Roman Empire and the subsequent cultivation of chivalry and noble morality – from the general public perception. Sexual perversity was something that had to be removed or kept hidden. This “noble lie” as Plato had called it, lead to the burning of books, the concealment of ancient texts in the Vatican, the elimination of the mystery cults from the public consciousness. What this repression gave birth to however was a higher and more elevated expression of the now purified sexual urges. In the Yoga Sutras, this is called Bramacharya (celibacy), which is one of the Yamas (life practices) required for the true practice of yoga. It is a refinement and a purification of the sexual drive. This is essential in order to allow for a deeper more divine expression of sexuality. Historically, this unleashed and orgasmic explosion in science, philosophical thought, poetry, art, and music in the Renaissance. We in the modern age believe that absolute sexual freedom is more natural than repression, but the truth is the opposite. We become slaves to our physical proclivities first, and if we do not prevent that slavery first and foremost, we will never be able to attain the heights of wisdom and beauty that was say we wish to attain.

Technosexuality. Modern culture’s sexuality is what I call technosexuality. It’s perversity is for the most part publicly expressed and admitted inside the popularity of digitalized porn and sex robots, violently sexual movies and Netflix series, obsession with digitized bodies of women and men, etc. This kind of digital perversion also drives addiction to social media/Internet as a way to “find love” and “friends” and “acceptance”. “Look at me” is no longer look at “me”. Instead it is “look at my image”. But is there any difference for some? This superficial preoccupation of such a large part of the population is like giving millions of toddlers an iPad and permanently adhering it to their hands- they are happy and quiet and leave the rest of us alone. The ones who are not happy and make a lot of noise – those are the ones who will have to do a lot of hard and painful work in order to save themselves from this matrix.

So Called Self-Love. When most people refer to self-love, they are referring to a way of being that avoids what displeases them and chases what pleases them. A life of avoidance and chasing is not what constitutes self-love. Running from and chasing things or people is self-sabotage, self-defense, other-offense, and general misery for all. A dog, too frightened and too scared to give or receive affection, too wounded to open its heart, is not practicing self-love.

Cheap Imitations. True love is divine love. All other kinds of love are cheap imitation copies that create co-dependency, limitation, bondage, lies, fears, pain, and so-called self-love which is actually just a love of one’s own ball and chain.

Love is. Love is not a person, nor is it an emotion or an action. Love is your relationship to the world, in all its parts and in its whole. If you hate one part, you hate the whole. If you lie about half, it is entirely a lie. If you feel you lack love, you will find little abundance in the stars.

You are a Universe. Don’t imagine that you are smaller than that, unless you are infinitely smaller.

Tragi-comedy. We feel good about our suffering in love as long as there is comedy to help us make light of it. Most people don’t want to admit or remember that the comic mask is just an upside down tragedy. Behind the jokes and the self-deprecating laughter is pain equal to or beyond measure of all the smiles of the world. Comedy is always a reaction to tragedy. One does not exist without the other. One cannot be present without the other. There is a ferocious bite in the wide toothy grin.

Detachment: Shake and Break. Comedy can be one of a number of possible first steps towards awareness around a situation or a state of being. First and foremost it requires an artistic talent or a keen eye to make light of a circumstance that would otherwise be too difficult to bear. And although the comic and lighter perspective does not offer the truth of a situation or being, it does unveil the unreality of its previous seriousness in the form of tragedy. When comedy makes light of tragedy, the tragedy appears to dissolve as if it were never there at all. The court jester lightens the king’s load. What this effects is quite powerful, for the individual gets the impression that the dark tragic perspective is not actually a reality at all and perhaps there is another more suitable one. A wise man or woman would see this and perhaps launch themselves into a search for the truth. Most, however, need a significant amount of incubation time before they seek such truth. Instead, they might be lead to believe that the comic perspective is the true perspective. But this kind of elevation gives seriousness to the comedy which is a bit like trying to make candy with salt instead of sugar. Such a recipe easily leads to a particularly unsavory and distasteful mode of behavior and manner of speaking. We know these types who emerge: class clowns, jokers, irresponsibility, irreverence, joblessness, despair, political activism, and – full circle -, dramatic expression and outburst, anger, venom. There is of course the accompanying possibility of a mind refuting the comic perspective entirely as being unsavory, perhaps on moral or religious grounds, which leads to a reversion back to the ponderous seriousness of one’s old perspective and being. We know these types: stodgy, inflexible, prideful, stubborn, arrogant, boring, silently anxious, bowel disturbances, and a private love of toilet humor. Either way, this back and forth between laughter (or avoidance of laughter) and tears will continue ad infinitum until the soul manages to extricate itself from both of these equally false realities. The individual, shaken back and forth, will be as an hourglass, with the sand being forced from one side to the other, and quite violently, until the glass suddenly breaks completely due to a combination of their surrendered ego and divine intervention. This surrender and intervention will finally release both the sand and the force of a soul who was only eager to free of the absurdity once and for all. This is the true nature and presentation of detachment which is a process of growth, awareness, and love which finally leads to bliss. The process is not peaceful in any way shape or form. It creates bi-polarized energies, emotional swings, friction, despair, surrender (to the divine), followed by complete collapse of what has kept the soul imprisoned for so many years and/or lifetimes. Namaste.

Potty humor arises out of shame. It is a truly low vibrational, reactive type of entertainment that most people enjoy. Watch the face of a dog as he tries to be discreet while doing his business with his owner watching. If a dog were a comedian, he would mainly tell food, poop, and fart jokes.

Afraid of What We Want. We are strange beings who are afraid to have what we want and so choose to simply purchase easier, cheaper, and less risky imitations of it. It is challenging to grow flowers. Much easier to buy them or – better yet – buy fake ones. Even easier: forget about them completely. We are no different in matters of love. We want it to be given to us, like we give it to our dogs. We don’t want to do the work, but we love to expend energy in complaining and creating art concerning how miserable love is. Love Stinks yeah yeah.

Love of Many Names and Blames. Love is the god of many names, but it is in English identified with a single word. The reasons for this are complex, but I will try to make it simple. We want to believe love is as effortless as a few unchallenged expectations and a contract either written or implied. Love, we all imagine, is being or doing in a specific way. Love, we think, is anthropocentric and adheres or should adhere to our social norms, rules, and regulations. Love, we assert, must conform to our conscious desires. And so, to reflect our desire for simplification, we give a single label to love, and we apply all of its constrictions to all possible loves. But when a possible love falls apart in relation to our expectations and attempts, we then begin the pain and the misery. We will most of the time launch our entire being into blaming ourselves or our partners for this injustice done to us; perhaps we will even blame society and love itself. But upon whomever we cast blame, we rarely stop to think that perhaps our definition of love is what is to blame, not the people involved, and certainly not love.

Love is calling. Love calls to you every day. How deep have you buried your heart so that you no longer have to hear it’s cry?

Self-empowerment/Self-Love. There are many books written by self-proclaimed love authorities. All of them are calls to “love yourself”. What they say sounds more or less correct, however what they are doing is simply fanning the flames of a fire that is already burning the house down. An individual who is most likely running from love and creating a life fueled by fear and limitation, is being told to love themselves at all costs. Well, burn on.

The First Sacrifice of Love. The first sacrifice love demands of you is for you to recognize that your definition of love has permeated your life in every aspect and in every dimension. It has become a fractal of sorts and it has replicated into your relationships with yourself, with others, with art, and with entire universe. Yes, your definition of love has cosmological significance. It is a definition that was formed either in a previous life, or in the current one when you were very young. Most of us are in fact walking around with very childlike views on what love should look like, childlike views that were reflected back to us from our parents, the television, movies, teachers, friends.

Love of Art. Your consciousness in regards to what love is perpetuates and replicates itself inside the mass consciousness. Those who are powerful “thought leaders”, such as artists and writers and philosophers, are the ones who move this mass consciousness more powerfully than the rest of the consumers or carriers. It is for that reason that care must be taken on the part of artists to become aware of the nature of this power they are wielding. The nature of it is related to the power of love itself. In other words, the expression of artists and theaters is what directs the form of love as it manifests in the world. As such, it directs the form and perception of the universe, as something we are either related to or something that we are cut off from.

Responsibility. Love grants you responsibility. Your relationship to it will determine the nature of your world and the world of those you can’t even imagine. You have no choice in this. You send out anger about love, you will create more anger. You send out pain? You will create more pain. If you choose anger and pain, maybe you should stay inside, away from the children. The children have had enough pain. You remember, don’t you?

Sour Grapes. People still relate to the world as if it were a friendship gone sour. The greater the ignorance of nature, the greater the fear; and as fear arises, so do all the barriers against love.

Failing at Love Again. Many of us removed God from our belief system because he failed to give us the love we wanted. Who did we replace him with? Could it be the ego who has taken the crown? Whoever he or she is, she is failing us as well. And miserably I might add.

Ego, Dharma, Healing

Nothing is higher than dharma. The weak overcomes the stronger by dharma, as over a king. Truly that dharma is the Truth (Satya); Therefore, when a man speaks the Truth, they say, “He speaks the Dharma”; and if he speaks Dharma, they say, “He speaks the Truth!” For both are one.
Brihadaranyaka Upanishad, 1.4.xiv

Agreement. Our dependency on other people is not due to our own weakness, but is due to the superficial preoccupations of our mind. When not at “work”, our mind spends most of its time with trivialities, falsities, and circular repetitious inner dialogues. The truth is that we are rarely dealing with the real world, if such a thing exists; and even if it does exist, we have very little inclination to associate with it, let alone the patience to inquire about it. Everyone else does this as well, and their agreement with us appears to constitute “reality”. We choose, for better or for worse, to engage with people who support the illusion and confusion we conjure on a regular basis. Shared delusion, mass consciousness, birds of a feather; call it what you like. As Friedrich Nietzsche said, “In individuals, madness is rare. In groups, it is the rule.”

Bondage and attachment. We are more attached to our thoughts about love than actually loving. It is a situation that is truly the “devil’s handiwork”.

Success. We generally never question what constitutes society’s idea of success. If we did, the idea would have already transformed, and so would we. And if success doesn’t fulfill us, we pretend that it does until the lie becomes so great that the only friend we have is what the Greeks called pharmaka: spells, incantations, and herbs. We recognize these as pharmaceuticals. Some are satisfied with simply “partying”.

Poison. Poison is not in the air or the sea, the earth or the fire. The poison is always in what we believe, and what we believe we must be.

Reality. People speak confidently to each other and themselves about being “realistic”. But “realism” only makes sense within the context of a hive mind and the limits it sets for itself. These limits are what divide good from bad, right from wrong, possible and impossible, all of which apply to everyone and no one in particular.

Thinking and Inner Knowing. We think that thinking leads to observation and that observation leads to truth. But this is a lie. There is no true and good observation with the mind. The mind is not an instrument for the observation of truth. The soundness of an argument does not mean it is a true argument. You can create a damn good story, but it has no bearing on its validity. A program for a computer can be logically sound and perfectly written. There is nothing “true” about it. It is a created system designed to stand by itself in a certain context. Mind as a whole is an instrument for collection, categorization, organization, structuring, story telling, argumentation, etc. The mind’s utility comes in after the observation/inspiration has already taken place. With what organ do we observe reality? Some cultures call it the “third eye” or the “heart chakra”, or the “understanding”. It is the source of all original inspiration and creativity. Plato called it “remembering”, because he saw inner knowledge as something that is already there within us latent and hidden. We are born with what we are meant to create; all we have to do is simply recollect and work on manifesting it. Yet most of us do not believe in any of this because not only have we been uneducated in the awareness of ourselves, but even when we do become aware, we decide that such an inner search takes time and solitude. And time and solitude will not make interesting YouTube videos or Facebook posts. Time and solitude will not get you quick success.

Quickly. Fine wines are not produced in a day.

From Spirit to Cog. Even though we are not aware of the full powers of our third eye, we still receive information from within and through it. The third eye is literally a portal to other worlds, and aspects or timelines of this world. However, this information is distorted and muddied by the ego-material world we live in. We immediately transmute spiritual information into childish dream analysis, ideas for action, ideas for winning. The American culture is still very pragmatic with regards to its own success. The individuals within it are simply expressions and pawns of that pragmatism. Spiritual insight is always shortly followed by “How can I sell this?”. And if we can’t sell it for the sake of wealth, fame, or image, we discard it immediately.

Heaven for Hell.
American culture’s relationship to yoga and meditation can be defined in the following way: We stretch our muscles towards the heavens so that we might relax happy inside our hell.

Group Meditation.
The only access to true reality is through our own experience of spirit. Meditation helps. Group meditation, however, is like to going to a sociologist for psychotherapy.

Disease and Profits. There is no money to be gained if people don’t need someone else to do something for them. There is always an financial incentive to keeping physical and spiritual disease alive and thriving.

Self-Doubt. Self doubt is the ego’s most clever survival strategy. Self-doubt is one of the most difficult psychological barriers to happiness and, at the same time, it is the best way to protect our current status-quo, whatever that may be. Self-doubt is most difficult, not because it is inherently complicated to remove as if it were some sophisticated alien implant, but because the strength of self-doubt is proportional to the power of the ego, which in most of us is unbounded and untamed. Self-doubt never doubts the doubter, because that would remove the entire disease and send the person into a reflective hall of mirrors. It’s just too much twisty mental yoga for most people to even look at it. No, self-doubt keeps us from being or doing or saying something outside of our normal routine. It is simply a ego-defense mechanism and it is designed to make you fail at your heart’s desire. Every. Single. Time. Self-doubt usually arises due to an overprotective parent. They would rather you stay in the house all day, than risk skinning a knee.

Imbalance always stems from an unbridled ego. Excessive muscle mass, excessive exercising, excessive partying, drinking. The power of the ego is always in inverse proportion to the power of the soul. Can’t control yourself when faced with a bag of chocolate? This is not about lack of will power; it is about the lack of relationship to your own soul. Look at it this way. Would you continually feed your dog or your child a bag of chocolate in every day? Not unless you want to kill the former, and cause serious health problems in the later. Why would you do it to yourself? It is not because you lack will power. It is because you are not connecting to love and care towards yourself.

Love is Health. With love, intelligence, care, grace, and kindness comes naturally. How do you access love? You begin by being true to yourself, to your powers, to your inner knowing. Spend time alone. Let everything else that falls away from that, fall away. You don’t need it.

Google as Oracle. We moderns believe that we know more of reality than the ancients. It is true that we may know more about the natural phenomena as presented through the five senses. We have spent a lot of time with data and pattern observation in observable phenomena. We worship our material world in a way that the Egyptians would find shocking. We even have computers that we love more than life itself, to do our heavy mathematical calculations, logical sentences, and Google oracle searches. But this deep faith in physical scientific data has spread to all areas of human life and the result is that we have never been more ignorant about the nature of ourselves or the universe. This is why the ancients look ignorant to us, not because they were ignorant, but because they were usually talking about something that we have long forgotten, namely, ourselves.

Misunderstandings. Our standard modern egoic understanding of religion and gods completely prevents us from understanding anything true about religion and gods.

Socrates: I know nothing.
Delphic Oracle: Know yourself!
Socrates: I know that I know nothing.

Resist, Surrender, Resent. To resist against social norms is to persist those social norms. This is why most young people eventually give up their resistance and surrender to what they once claimed to despise. At that later point, they see themselves as “growing up”. But the truth is that they have just “grown in”. They are as wild horses who finally succumb to the comforts offered by their masters. Later, as they age, these people are most likely to become the ones who are the least tolerant of those who don’t in turn succumb to what they themselves once submitted to.

Monkey Mind. Most people give up on meditation because they have a “monkey mind”, a mind that is completely unable to stop swinging from thought to thought, from dream to dream, from desire to desire. Restlessness, anxiety, inconsistency: all of them feel impossible to avoid. But this is precisely why they shouldn’t give up on meditation. Yet for some reason, the monkey thinks that if it is hungry, it shouldn’t bother eating.

Separation. The energy of people speaks louder than their words and their actions. You can experience the thoughts of another individual even before they can articulate those thoughts to themselves. This is no magic. This is possible only because we are not really separated from each other. Psychic powers arise out of awareness of connection with others from within.

Karmic Disease. If you cause pain to another human being, you will feel that pain as well. It will become part of you. This is what karma is. It is not justice. It is the experience of shared energy. You cannot intentionally harm or hurt someone else without harming and hurting yourself. It may manifest differently within you and you might not identify it until later, but it is there. This is how generational karma is possible. The pain is transferred. You are always the one who has the opportunity to heal it. Otherwise, you will remain a carrier and you will spread that pain far and wide to as many children and animals as possible. Karma is a disease and each one of us can resolve it. First by recognizing it, healing the wounds, and healing others.

Generational Suffering. One person can contain the evil and pain of multiple generations. I have seen such a one or two and I have seen deep suffering and alcohol in their eyes.

Victims. The modern victim mentality perpetuates karmic disease. When everyone is the victim, no one takes action to resolve the karma. We don’t take responsibility because we are the root cause of the pain, we take responsibility because we can be the cause of the healing. It is our Dharma to do so. To neglect that duty is to actually become part of the root cause.

Healing. The source of all confusion and muddied thinking and feeling is a lack of access to Source or God (whatever you call it) via your third eye. You are one and your being is integrated inside the world in a profound and magical way. The confusion you suffer is not due to psychological illness, but due to sociological conditioning and false education. Peel off the layers of social conditioning and you will uncover your true voice. This takes time, love, and patience. Do not give up in this. Be relentless. Find others who support you. Find good books, not self-help agendas and yoga teacher trainings. Stop chasing “success” and “money”. It is candy but it will leave you unfulfilled. Then when you are done and have found who you are, or at least who you are not, begin to learn how you might heal all the others. You will know when it is time. Only you will know. Google knows nothing.

Sexuality: Truth or Fame?

Jesus replied, “Even if I testify about Myself, My testimony is valid, because I know where I came from and where I am going. But you do not know where I came from or where I am going. You judge according to flesh. I judge no one.

John 8:15

Poetry as Sexual Spells. There are certain poems whose words are not meant to be heard for their clever composition. They are instead symbols, like hieroglyphics, which, in their spellings, transmit an energy meant to be felt and recreated again and again upon each reading. Poetry, like music, is the art of spells and incantations and love-making. What does poetry and music wish to achieve? It wishes of course to find another to receive it, so that it might enter the other for self replication. This pursuit is as the nature of life and love itself. Union, replication, procreation, recreation, reincarnation: it doesn’t matter whether the poet/musician is still alive or long passed, the listener who resonates with the energy of the composer’s spells will receive that energy as a recognized force of consciousness. That energy which moves through the listener is palpable and powerful. And as a song is transmitted within the soul of the listener and welcomed there, it’s seeds are planted, to someday perhaps germinate into similar offspring.

Transmutation of Sexual Energy. The transference and recreation of energy over time and space is not to be confused with the temporal energetic emotional state and lusts of lovers. Emotional expression cannot alone carry itself beyond the moment of its expression. Lust is no match for unconditional divine love. Its end is quick, unstable, and unsubtle. Unconditional love, on the other hand, is a creative energy, an energy of consciousness that transforms a sudden outburst of tears into the tragedy of humanity, the longing of a young man or woman into the eternal quest for union with the beloved, the pain of death into the Iliad. There is a certain divine grace inherent in this divine love, for it saves us from being utterly consumed by what is by itself self-annihilating.

Canines. The general population experiences their sexuality as a physical experience like eating food or drinking. This is why the general population does not have an impact beyond temporal creation. From dust they arise and to dust they return. Still some of them are very attractive and well-groomed.

Pleasure. The modern world is an amazing place where dogs enjoy more comforts and privileges than most people in Africa. Most people, if you demanded of them the truth, would admit that a dog’s life is more enjoyable than their own.

Know the Beast. Most artists in the modern world seek to become popular amongst the general population. They will soon find out – when it is too late – that each moment spent trying to please the general population, is a moment that gets them even closer to homelessness – or worse – a desk job.

Temporal Recognition. Fame in the twenty-first century is temporary. As time goes on, it will get even more temporary. Many will blame this on technology or society at large. But the blame itself is misplaced and is itself a symptom of the true problem. The real problem is that most professional artists and wannabe artists have become attention and sexual whores.

Responsibility. Technology is an instrument not only for distraction but also for scapegoating. Not only does it allow us to abdicate our mathematical responsibilities, but also our responsibilities in regards to exercising the power of our own Will.

Only One. We don’t produce Shakespeares and Mozarts not because we are addicted to the Internet, but because Shakespeares and Mozarts have always been rare. But that is okay. These single individuals are blessed with a divine love and grace so powerful that they still empower and inspire us to this day. We just need one. Only one.

God is Alive. God is the source of all creativity. Nietzsche declared His death…and then resurrected Him. I have yet to meet someone who understands this. Instead, what we have are fools who refute God because they think God cares about arguments.

Justice. True philosophy has nothing to do with argument or self defense. Philosophy would actually have no function if the human world were not constantly in a state of imbalance and excess and – let’s face – utter stupidity. Philosophy has been and always will be justice, the enterprise whose goal it is to rebalance humanity or a section of humanity. A philosopher will poke holes in a previous philosopher’s arguments not because he is trying to prove the other wrong, but because rebalancing requires it. Students of philosophy will ignorantly imitate the actions and words of the philosopher, not understanding the power and energy and direction of those words. By the time students rummage through the old philosopher’s bones, his original words, concepts, ideas have already succumb to gravity. They have grown slow and ponderous, eventually collapsing into their own weight. The word “love” in the mouth of Socrates, for example is now so filled with every single aspect of affinity, sexual contact, emotional intimacy, etc that the word is virtually meaningless.

Romeo. The philosopher who is interesting in lovemaking, will make sure that he first refutes every definition of love he can find.

Canary in the Coal Mine. An artist cannot express from his heart and soul if his heart and soul is filled with lies and deceits. He can try of course, but he will find only limitation and difficulty. He would be the canary in the coal mine, but in a cave mine that is filled to the top with coal. That is why it is a good idea for every artist to constantly look to remove anything that keeps his heart from singing freely into open air.

Boredom. The general population will worship artists who excite their physical sexuality. Everything else is boring and pretentious like Rachmaninoff and Longfellow and Jesus.

Destiny. Artists must always answer this question: Do you desire fame or do you love truth? Who is your mistress? She will be your lover. She will be your destiny.

Trick Questions. Everything in life offers a trick question. Slow down. Listen. Contemplate. Then perhaps answer.

The Will and the Ego

Straightway, a forgetting wind
Stole over the celestial kind,
And their lips the secret kept,
If in ashes the fire-seed slept.
But now and then, truth-speaking things
Shamed the angels’ veiling wings;

– Ralph Waldo Emerson, Uriel

The television, computer, or the media in general are externalized dreams to be delivered to mass consciousness. As consumers, we reflect and recreate these symbols and paradigms given to us. Our own dreams become variegated instances of that mass dream. This is why media is a powerful form of mental and subconscious programming. It is designed to weaken the individual human Will.

A truly creative person must protect – not their ego – but their Will. I have watched too many in their egos. They always disappear, as sure as the body wastes away in the grave, in silence, clutching their fears.

There are those who have a Will that is even stronger than their massive ego. We call them “old softies”.

The Will is not a stubborn and determined bull in a china shop, stomping on people, hurting them, and destroying all that is delicate and fine. No, it is the ego that is the bull. The Will is angelic. It is a force of light that is mighty, terrible and of the most exquisite beauty and inspiration. It is the cord that connects us to the divine. All that is dark will flee its presence. The ego will always believe that an egg needs to be cracked in order to build something good. The Will refutes this. It is always grace and gracious to all. It enlightens what it touches and what doesn’t want enlightenment will go back into Tartarus.

It is easier to not be creative. It is easier not to go to the gym. It is easy to overlook cultivating your Will. It is easier to dissolve the Will into the mass will that empowers external society. Socially minded people, especially those who absorb their lives in political and social issues tend to imagine themselves to be aligned to the heart beat of the universal consciousness. However, the truth is, they have lost their Will and their Soul to the created imagination of consciousness.

Most of the population is dark and blind and that is why they feed off the Will of others who are connected to the divine. Unfortunately, there are many who have that divine light, that natural Will to shine, who instead choose to throw their pearls at the feet of swine and roll around in the mud with them. This is usually due to bad upbringing and a mother who is jealous and envious of others, especially anyone who she perceives to shine brighter than herself, which would be most good people.

A mother who is jealous of her children overcoming her desires – will place them in front of the television. She instinctively knows that the television will keep her children’s dreams under control, preventing from strengthening their own Will, their resolve, and the love within that calls. She wants to cultivate fear and co-dependency. She especially supports medicating her children or introducing them to the numbing effects of alcohol as soon as they are of age to party.

Why would a population want their dreams to be directed, controlled, and produced for them? That same population also wants to be pay psychologists and gurus to help them overcome their depression, victim mentality, their co-dependency, their own feelings of powerlessness. What they are looking for is a strong Will. Instead, they go for abs of steel or a degree in Liberal Arts. They love this quandary that they are in because all forms and expressions of it are like the ones they see on the television shows and their Twitter feed. They feel “connected”.

There is a group of people who consider themselves to be ascended beings. These are the new agers and all those who associate with them. They fly together as a flock of birds fly together. Their transformation is simply the trading of one co-dependency for another co-dependency. If one of the flock were left to meditate by themselves for a lifetime, they would fall into the ravine below, transform into a rodent, and scurry away, never to be seen in the sky again.

New agers spend hours on Twitter and Facebook talking about their ascension symptoms like a group of grandmas talking about their cataracts and incontinence. There is much comfort in common misery. Namaste.

Depression, powerlessness, anxiety: all of them are a function of a hijacked dream state and a lack of awareness of who is actually running the show, the actors, the theater, the Wizard of Oz, the world, the stage. The dream we live in has many doors leading to more dreams. No one wants to own them. They don’t even know they are there.

I don’t need to see a person to read their energy. I see their internal structure very quickly, a structure they don’t even know is there. In a second, I can see a thought pop in and out of their consciousness. I can see the sudden surge of unexpected energy nearly topple their fragile constitution. This constitution is like a programmatic template/paradigm. Programmers would call this perhaps an “abstract class and/or interface”. My dreams often involve people I can’t see. I know exactly who they are in life, and even if I don’t, I know how and what they are.

We are all almost ready to fall apart. We should take Nike’s advice here.

If we would allow ourselves to fall apart, we could work towards creating something that won’t fall apart. But modern psychology tells us we must love who we are. Love here means to defend who we are. In other words, if you are a shitty dingy in a wild sea, save that dingy at all costs. Kill even the whales if you need to. Okay.

We have been untaught how to read the works of Shakespeare and Plato. We no only understand plot, character, and motive. We are obsessed with the ego-identities and landscapes of others, which fuels the self-loathing and sense of uselessness of the self. We rarely participate in our own stories. We still believe in Santa Claus and all sorts of toddlerized short stories. It all sounds the same and we like it.

A successful author tells the story that is most desirable for the children to hear. The state of writing today.

There is a great cost to achieving success in a sick society. The cost is abject failure and self loathing.

One cannot deliver to the cravings of the ill masses without making himself a sacrifice to them. Always make sure your sacrifice is for the greatest good and make sure that you are willing to perish most miserably at their hands.

Famous people lead miserable lives. The ignorant marvel at how so many die of drugs, suicide, or just plain self-neglect. The ignorant love to hear about the downfall of the stars. This is because they enjoy consuming them so that they themselves may live and continue to dream about being a “star”.

Talking to most people is like talking to characters either from the latest Netflix, YouTube series. Of course, there are some folks who are more elevated and sound like most of Twitter.

True knowledge will never be acquired until you are able and ready to see. A seeker of knowledge must first, not apply for University, but work on strengthening their Will.

A seeker of success in anything requires a strength of Will.

Most people confuse desire with Will. They think that because they want something badly, they will get it. They believe they should get it because Nike even tells them to “Just do it!” But the truth is, desires never lead us to the desire. Only a powerful Will is what leads us to what is desired.

The Will must be cleared of all desires in order to become powerful. The Will is like water. If it is filled with dirt and contaminates, it will, yes, quench your thirst, but the process of tasting it will be awful and the results could even be fatal.

Our modern culture is a culture of hedonism, not because we are like Romans puking in a vomitorium after dinner, but because we worship our desires and we identify with them as if they constitute the nature and essence of self.

Make no mistake. Most people think desire is love and love is desire. This is why love appears painful to them. Jesus tried to help with that. Results still uncertain.

We are told we live in a scientific, realistic, progressive society. We are told that older cultures such as those in ancient Greece and Rome, Ancient Egypt, or Ancient Sumeria, are practically like cavemen in contrast to our more enlightened and intellectualized world. Cultures who were motivated and absorbed in their myths appear primitive and even ridiculous to most modern thinkers. But this belief, that we have overcome the mythological and the symbolic, is also a myth and a story. We believe in our reality just as much as they did. In fact, we believe in our idols and our symbols even more than they did.

Ancient civilizations honored the past and their histories for they saw the thread of divinity interwoven within their mundane life. The modern ego doesn’t understand this and actually takes offense to it. This is the modern delusion. A time will come when we will be looked upon with shame and disbelief. How could they trust and put so much faith in an invisible ego?

The power and arrogance of the western ego is its own devil. And how many devils there are!

We become attached to entertainment and media not because of the pleasure it gives us but because we digest the expressions and symbols it offers us. They empower us or make us feel things. We weep and we cheer. We don’t do that often in our lives, unless we are feeling depressed because “life sucks”. We prefer the feeling of distance because it makes the ego feeling like a god. The ego says to itself when it is watching a spectacle: “And on the 7th episode of Game of Thrones, I said it was good.” Media offers us representation, meaning, explanation, a landscape upon which to judge and comment.

The entertainment media has literally replaced tradition, ritual, mythology, storytelling. It has literally consumed us. As a result, relationships to each other have become either functional, co-dependent, or completely useless. The ego calls this its “independence” and “self-empowerment”. Women especially love this because they feel like they don’t need anyone, especially a man. They all secretly – or sometimes even openly – suffer. This is is why they need a gaggle of girls around them to engage in commiseration.

Millions of people talk about love on the Internet today, especially the ones who gain fame and money from the the ones they love so much. These are known as “followers”. In the past, they were known as licksplittles.

People need to be reminded by Internet memes that they are precious and special and loved by the universe. They have forgotten: they are the only universe there is. Another thing that mommy never told them.

Tarot: The Black of Hole of Seeking Public Attention and Approval 6969

I was moved to do a tarot reading today because I have been feeling an immense shifting of energy – a certain powerful calming influence, a feeling of freedom and fresh air, of being unattached to any outcomes one way another, an absence of fear. As I am a channeler and I generally work with Archangel Uriel, I pick up collective energies as well as my own. I receive information and wisdom regarding these these energies, as well as lessons that hopefully reach the one they are meant for. Archangel Uriel is especially fond of turning things upside down on their head, and this is necessary when the hourglass has finished letting the sand fall to one extreme or the other.

Extremity is simply holding on to too much, digging one’s claws too deep, to one side of the duality or other. We don’t want the hourglass to be turned upside down. We want to stay where we are even though we are in an imbalance and choking on sand. Today, Uriel showed me the consequences of spending too much of our time seeking public attention and exposure at the cost of being authentic and true to our soul and its journey. The soul’s journey is a journey that seeks balance within. It is the master hand that controls the hourglass but does not itself reside within it. But where many of us are is not in a journey or in our power as much as an attempt to hide or to escape from taking that journey, from owning that power.

When we choose to please others and live our lives or create our projects based primarily on the approval of others, we are not living an authentic life. It is not as if we have consulted our soul and its direction, for the soul is what connects us to the divine and where we discover our own connection to the universe. Instead, we have been seeking the approval and advice and direction of other people. By both their words and their actions we are tugged and pulled along in life. The consequences of this behavior is truly catastrophic, as it both leads to and causes depression and self loathing, anger, resentment, envy, and internal/external conflict (anxiety).

We are meant to shine, not to be someone else’s mules.

And the longer we do not listen to our soul, the deeper the pain will be felt. We can choose to continue to medicate ourselves by chasing more approval or perhaps by some divine intervention choose to instead stop and begin to heal and face what we have been running from. For what we have been running from is our soul and the purpose of our soul. It doesn’t matter the reasons. Perhaps people tell you are worthless. Perhaps your parents told you were a waste of time. Maybe a past life experience has never let go. Whatever the reason, you can still choose to start again by stopping. Stop chasing. Stop looking. You are already here and ready.

For this reading I was guided to use the Quantum Tarot Version 2.0 by Lo Scarabeo. I love this deck, as it gives me a new way to consider the energies that are normally expressed in only anthropomorphic images. There is so much to learn in physical science that can help us to understand our spiritual journeys. I am of the belief that a stronger alliance between science and spirituality will strengthen the power of both. For those interested in the numerological significance, the cards read: 6969. 6969 is an angelic number sequence that indicates to us that it is time to let go of material attachments. Can’t make this stuff up.

The first two cards are the Black Hole reversed (traditionally The Devil) and Star Birth (9 of Cups). The Black Hole is something that consumes light and never releases it. The closer an object gets to it, the slower time appears until it stops altogether. Life becomes difficult and hard to get through or it just becomes mundane and boring. We become sluggish and feel a lack of vigor, giving ourselves the excuse that perhaps we have become too old or too weary to do much more. We all know that stuck feeling, that feeling that we have made certain choices and agreements or contracts and that we just cannot release ourselves from them. It doesn’t matter at this point that we are unhappy or even miserable, we just tend to learn to accept things and make the best of what we have. We will often pray or dream of someone to save us. We will wish something will happen outside of us that will turn it around. But what we are doing is we are just allowing the black hole to suck us in further and keep us there in our fixed automated ways of being. If we have addictions we feel even more attached and sucked into the darkness. Our own power to resist almost feels non-existent. We are telling the universe again and again that we are powerless. And the universe is responding in kind.

The good news is that in this reading, the Black Hole card is reversed, which means that there has been a release from some of these attachments. What was once stuck is becoming unstuck. There is an energy of power present. It could be the release of a toxic relationship or occupation, or perhaps a change in mindset or attitude, or maybe the healing of an addiction or obsession. Whatever it is, this card is also accompanied by Star Birth which is a beautiful card indicating that there is an energy of renewal and abundance – a rediscovery of one’s own personal power and what it feels like to be released from those attitudes, things, people, or circumstances that only cause misery and feelings of powerlessness. And because the Black Hole is such a powerful card, I am getting that whoever this reading is for has done an enormous amount of work to get to this point of not only surviving by resisting the power of the black hole, but by thriving and stepping into their own power. The next two cards fell out of the deck together and so they are meant to be read together. Both of them clarify the nature of the attachment that is being overcome in the Black Hole reversed card. The attachment is the attachment to approval from others, fame, masks, other people’s expectations. The attachment is an attachment to your own powerlessness, your belief in being a victim of life, of mind, of society, of God.

The first card is the reversed Star (6 of Wands). The upright meaning of this card is about short-lived victories. Stars shine for billions of years after they are born. But in divine time or universal time, this is a short moment. Not all things last, especially human feelings of victory. Movie stars, music stars, film stars: all of them fade. And your attachment to your own form of fame and attention is no different. In the reversed position here, the card indicates an unhealthy dependency on the constant need for reinforcement and approval. A billion plastic trophies. In this world of social media for example, we can easily get addicted to gathering as much approval as possible from friends, family, and even strangers. Fame and mass approval used to be something reserved for the few, but now it is easily accessible by everyone. That is great, but when unchecked, the drive to get approval from others can actually be a detriment to your own growth. It is easy to do something you know many will approve of and purchase. It is also easy to please family and friends who want you to do things the way they think they should be done. It is easy for us to become king of the ants. But so many of us can be something more than just a king of ants. It is truly a heroic task to discover what your true purpose is on this earth and to manifest that purpose despite what others might think. It is easier to get likes from others than to truly learn to like ourselves without the need for approval. Do you still want to play so small?

The second card is called Matter\Antimatter Annihilation (9 of Swords). Amazing that this card dropped. This is a card of deep internal conflict, deep fear, anxiety and self-annihilation. Matter and antimatter annihilate each other when they collide together. No one survives. The neglect of self is the matter. The antimatter here is the attention paid to what is non-self. The self and the non-self cannot co-exist together. They annihilate each other. The person, the individual, the soul is a battlefield and it is the soul who must pay. And yet it is also the soul who cannot win. It truly is bloody. The pain of this is unbelievably excruciating and there are many who are experiencing this pain, not usually consciously either. Most people experience this pain in their physical bodies, particularly in the lower chakras, because they are literally in survival mode. Digestive issues, reproductive issues, all are affected here.

But regardless of this pain, this internal war starts to become home. It becomes a familiar way of being not only for ourselves, but for everyone else around us. This mode of being, this Black Hole, this battle and addiction to wanting to win and be a victor consumes the human energy field and neglects the attention and love that the self requires. The reason why we want to gain people’s approval is so that we can create an even bigger army to prove that we are worth something in the world. The weakness that we experience in the self, in our lack of personal power, in our inability to feel good without the approval of others leads to the desire to bond with others and as many as possible in order to create a feeling of being more powerful than we actually are. The lie that we cultivate and the hidden feelings of self loathing and impotency create a warlike atmosphere within our inner world. And the more impotent we feel, the more we feel the urge to gain acceptance from others. This is why many people who are famous have such difficulties. They were driven to fame due to a lack of self worth and their parents’ (who pushed them) lack of self worth. And the bigger the fame, the deeper the self-loathing. Millions of people are now wanting to become internet stars. Not all are driven by lack of self worth, but many are and they are entirely unaware of it, because the high they get from public approval is enormous and it conceals from view their own true self neglect and lack of integrity. There is nothing wrong with wanting public attention per se, but we must look at the motivation we have behind it. Are we being true to ourselves and gaining public attention, or are we changing ourselves with masks and other tricks in order to maintain our public persona and, at the same time, medicate ourselves? These are critical questions that only the heart can answer.

But the good news is that the energy I am feeling to day is that there has been an overcoming or a beginning of overcoming of this need for approval and that there is some majority out there who are coming into their own sense of power and expression of self. There has been a shift inward and a new attention towards self mastery, self power and self love. This is truly a battle against the devil’s energy in both the tarot and Biblical sense. I am not sure whose energy I am reading here today, but I feel it as well and it is inspiring for us all because it is nothing other than the expression of unconditional love and the desire to permanently put an end to the pain of that internal warfare that consumes so many of us on this earth both in body and in soul.

Love and Light to all,
Namaste,
Stacey

Channeling: Society, Entertainment and Anxiety

This is my first publication of a channeling session. I generally do my channeling every morning and it usually arrives with a level of energy and power that is so immense I can’t even write quickly enough. What is presented here are some observations on the current state of entertainment in society and how it is directly linked to the anxiety epidemic. I also receive this channeling in the form of certain perspectives. It feels as if my mind’s eye is being directed to look at various structures and imbalances in the way we are living currently. I just write it down as given to me. All of the observations are linked together but not necessarily in an obvious way. They are meant to be read with an active mind. They are observations not directives. I hope you get something out of them.

Aristotle wrote books on how to differentiate the essence of something and what is not essential to that essence. We still haven’t listened – it is just too much work and being in error is better than doing work. But if we had listened, racism, sexism, all -isms would be impossible.

What is possible for something is always determined by the nature of that something. If we understood what the essence of being human is, we might have a better idea of what is possible to manifest in this life of ours. But we are a culture who is absorbed in entertainment and distraction. Even good things such as exercise and science are abused to avoid looking at the nature of reality in the mirror.

ENTERTAIN: late 15c., “to keep up, maintain, to keep (someone) in a certain frame of mind,” from Middle French entretenir (12c.), from Old French entretenir “hold together, stick together, support,” from entre- “among” (from Latin inter ; see inter-) + tenir “to hold” (Latin tenere)

Entertainment in excess is a vice that is deadlier than cigarettes. It leads to absorption inside the other, and a lack of recognition of the self, and therefore a lack of unity and wholeness. The self becomes a pastiche of various opinions and personalities and dramas that do not seem to make a cohesive whole. They battle against one another for dominance. The individual who is absorbed within the world like this has difficulty processing his life a unit. He will always avoid intimacy because he will feel there is nothing there.

Entertainment sells. Even shopping has become entertaining and self indulgent: Amazon. Videos, emails, social media, video games, books, online courses. Advice, opinions, wise people everywhere. Everywhere you look, there is a place to dive into away from yourself.

Modern consumer culture is not of things, but of entertainment and information. Directly linked to anxiety. Anxiety arises from a loss of control and feelings of panic. Yes, when you spend most of your life listening to the world outside instead of inside, you are going to panic.

In life, we’re meant to build our own sea vessel. Most people are spending their time looking to buy sea vessels, find opinions about sea vessels, different techniques for building/navigating them. Scared and unfulfilled they then spend the rest of their time Googling “anxiety”

Holy Place: That emptiness you talk about within you? That “nothingness”? It is just the quiet space where no noise can enter, a holy place, a place of serenity and peace. And should you remain there still for a while, you will witness how the divine light enters you.

In life, we’re meant to build our own sea vessel. Most people are spending their time looking to buy sea vessels, find opinions about sea vessels, different techniques for building/navigating them. Scared and unfulfilled they then spend the rest of their time Googling “anxiety”

You can’t catch the right fish? Maybe you are in the wrong ocean.

There are so many drugs designed to alleviate our fear of life. There are predators who both consciously and unconsciously have an interest in perpetuating fear – just to have that big house and a yacht. The irony is they are more afraid than the people they sell their drugs to.

Society operates the way birds fly together. The individuals inform together making a perfectly balanced arrow shape in the sky. There are those who lead the way and those who follow behind, but they all keep in sync together. It is not true that the leading bird is showing the way. He is showing the way in the context of what is possible within that species of bird. He is limited by that, and he will do what is expected of him in that society. A society that feeds off of fear and pain, will make sure that fear and pain remains and that their leaders do not disturb or transform that pain through cures or rehabilitation.

We think that voting for new leaders will change society. That is an illusion. The leaders will not change anything. They will only increase the addiction and ailments in which the current society thrives.

Once you find your light and your power for good, you must be careful to keep it clear and powerful and nurturing for yourself and for those around you. It is easy to get caught up in all sorts of energies that will keep you away from seeing clearly.

So how to transform society? You don’t. Societies can only be dissolved or become unusable, like an old glove that has too many holes to be useful anymore.

Once the consciousness can see the absurdity and uselessness of the society it is in, and once that consciousness spreads, the society as it was will be discarded and quickly.

Society has an energy that sticks to your person. Some people think that morality comes from society. That is not true. Morality comes from everything that isn’t society. Society will however use morality in order to make itself feel good.

Become aware of yourself as an entity or being who has society’s fingers all over you. It could be felt or viewed as obscene. Certainly, inappropriate.

Going within doesn’t mean you want to be forever isolated from society. It is just that going within will allow us all to create a better society more suitable to individuals who love life, soul, and the planet.

Raising your consciousness is not easy. It isn’t a yoga pose. I am not going to lie. You will feel like you are falling apart. And you are meant to fall apart. Keep going. What collapses so easily isn’t worth keeping.

What is truly yours and of yourself will never fall away from you. Everything else is not yours or of yourself, so let it go. The more you cling to what is not yours, the more you suffer.
