Karmic Curse

Love grants in a moment what toil can hardly achieve in an age.

Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

there is a rooted mechanism in our souls,
a coil hidden, its spring hidden unnoticed,
as it ever propels us into quests for love,
the ones that always end in regret or shame
until finally, weary, we surrender to the one
comforts that replace eternal truth’s passion
and in your imagination’s paper you marry him
and bury that iron stake half into the ground
that the other cruel half absorb the lightening
the power of your soul that you have forsaken
but saved for trying love games in the next life
until this karmic curse revealed will be spoken
wizardry dissolved as dark clouds to be broken
